Summary0001602: [Smart3][ATV12] CTS Smoke Test: Require for "Volume Mute" without log in
DescriptionHi YK,

For smoke test certification, there is a test item for Google TV phone app (like "smokeTest_volumeMute.PNG").
And there is some problem on 5. Verify that D-pad navigation, "Volume Mute".
The Google TV remote function "Volume Mute" button is shown as the red circle in the figure "image.png".
When we press the "Volume Mute" button, we can't mute the volume. I think it is because we don't log in to the home page.
And we need to pass this test item without logging in, so please discuss it with Sptek.

Hi YK,

I know three ways to test "Volume Mute":

1. input keyevent 164

2. RCU mute button: "RCU mute button.png"

3. phone app remote control:
You need to download "Google TV" from App Store(iPhone) or Google Play Store(Android). ("Google TV.png")
And "Google Home" app can also be used to test. ("Google Home.png")

These three ways will both trigger "Volume Mute".

When the Install Wizard is operated, the mute function does not work because HOME is not operated.

It's already been decided, so I don't think it's possible to modify it.

Hi YK,

In Login Page, I think the setup wizard is finished. (You can reboot the device at the login page, I think the device will go directly to the login page)

Could SPTEK check if SetupWizard is finished and unlock the mute key by following API

Settings.Secure.getInt(context.getContentResolver(), TV_USER_SETUP_COMPLETE);

The Mute processing is performed by the HomeUI. the HomeUI is not working properly yet at login page
so , Mute function doesn't work.

Currently, the POWER and MUTE are not available at login page.

As far as I know, the power button and Mute at the login page are the same in the previous Smart3 (ATV10).

Please tell me exactly why it was not a issue before and why it is a issue now.

 Hi YK,

Our 3PL can accept "testing these keys after login".

Our 3PL ask the same question "POWER/MUTE is not working in login page" many times in each MR releases. I always reply to them if they want to test these 2 keys, they need to login.
so I just want to know if SKB/Digicap/SPTEK can improve this part.

Digicap reviewed it, and many resource modules are related and cannot be modified at login page
So the action for the Mute / Power button cannot be implemented on login page.
